The Clean Energy Initiative Development Programme...

The Clean Energy Initiative development programme offers an innovative combination of practical experience and training in both the fabrication of low tech micro wind turbines and the productive use of wind power from income-generation. Our keep-it-simple engineering approach makes the basic principle of wind power an accessible learning opportunity and a sustainable source of economic income. By demonstrating that it is possible to generate electricity by exposing magnets and coils (spinning alternator) to local trade winds is highly inspirational

Vocational training

Rural energy needs in isolated rural communities is extremely low and only a small amount of electricity is necessary to improve their quality of life. There is little doubt  that the provision of energy for public services like remote health centres, schools and water supply  (for vaccine refrigeration, lighting for maternity wards, pumping drinking water,  lighting for evening study) offers a positive impact on quality of life for low-income communities in remote areas. As a consequence, we support the long-term introduction of environmentally clean and sustainable wind energy. The Clean Energy Initiative is a way of combining educational needs with innovative renewable energy thinking, thereby optimising the beneficial outcomes for apprentices, communities, and the environment. The programme is established both as:

Our approach:

Live work experience

Wind power dissemination and demonstrations to NGOs and governmental agencies

Community mobilisation

Support and enhancement of local skills
